Dark Cosmos, White Gnosis

By Jerry Rea Ellis

Suffused in mist, reaching like pale arms
In valleys unmapped, the horses are free,
And the subtleties await the inquisitive heart
Obsessed with bird watching and star counting.

And the wind would be willing to teach
If we were willing to learn,
Under the chandelier sun
Where we burn and beautify.

The lessons melt into the heart
So passionate, like being kissed
By a dark eyed-girl
Who eases the pain with her lips.

And understanding
Makes the days come more slowly
And wrap around me
Like her smooth legs.

The chaos of human interaction
Swarming around my head.
But inside, love is quiet.
Wrapped in honest arms,

Covered in perfect kisses.
