Numinia

By Paul Kloppenborg

Collapse of seasons, collective release
Cruel, Dionysias of death, frowning God,
Judged, sealed,
Language buried above ground
The cliches of the age, chtonian, out of date
Words scrawl air, primordial, retreat as mistakes
Fragments transmuted -

Final aim in a didactic mind
Unleashed,
Released, sacred kindred knots
Trembling limbs of letters, paper flayed
Fibre by fibre, fervour is conviction's sin,
Is earth, lexicon of signs, Bedlam's poles
A truth that reason hides
Gorgon's head as locus myth of barbaric lines
Each written age visions, chaos deranged
Corybantic demand signifies,
is signified
Torpor's cumbering flesh, necrobiosis in thought
A surrender to source
An abandonment
nature in form
defending a dread
Self mantic as closure
