Pardon me while I engage in some cross-promotion. Frequent Fables contributor Stephen D. Rogers tied for second place in Shred of Evidence's Readers' Choice Award. That story ("Dust is Thicker than Water") was also selected as a Notable Online Short Story by storySouth as part of the Million Writers Award. (And while we're on that subject, the winner is "You Are a 14-Year-Old Arab Chick Who Just Moved to Texas" by Randa Jarrar.)

Mildly belated congratulations to the Fables contributors whose work made the HWA's preliminary Stoker ballot. Angeline Hawkes-Craig's "Long Live the Queen" (Femmes de la Brume) and Simon Wood's "Warning Signs" (Vivisection) appear in the Short Fiction category. Bruce Boston's works include Pitchblend (Dark Regions Press) in the Poetry Collection category and "The Crow is Dismantled in Flight" (Miniature Sun Press) in the Alternate Forms category. Marge Simon's Artist of Antithesis (Miniature Sun Press) also appears in the Poetry Collection category. (We trust that this will not lead to any unpleasantness in the Boston-Simon household.)

The results of the P&E poll are in. Fables is once again among the Top Ten poetry zines, and Chrissie Ward's "Uenuku and the Mist Maiden" was chosen as one of the year's Top Ten stories. Fables alums (including Simon Wood, Erin Donahoe, Brenna Lyons and Christina Sng, among others) were nominated and placed in various categories. Congratulations, and thanks to all who voted.
